GB's Commonwealth and European gold medal boxer, Delicious Orie, visited North Bromsgrove High School, Year 9 students on last Friday.
The 6'6" super heavyweight athlete, who recently returned from USA training, demonstrated different boxing combinations and answered student questions.
Orie, joined by local Self Defence instructor Pete Martin, ensured an informative session for the learners. Mr Martin will continue to interact with students at his new Redditch Self Defence Unit in the upcoming weeks.
Orie said: "It was an absolute pleasure to work with some of the year 9’s for the Boys Move Programme. An excellent opportunity to see some great potential and even more importantly some great motivation.
"I look forward to seeing how these remarkable young lads get on with their sessions in Pete’s very capable hands. I can’t wait to hear all about it in September! A massive thank you to North Bromsgrove for having me and to Mrs Brierley for being the driving force for all of it."
Self-defence instructor Pete said: "Positive experiences at an early age help build the foundations for an active life. If children and young people have experiences that feel fun and give them a sense of confidence, they’re more likely to want to be active in the future. Events like this are fantastic for engaging and inspiring young people."
