A REUNION has been held for the former pupils of a Bromsgrove school.

Over 50 ex-pupils went back to Bromsgrove School, in Worcester Road, for a special event on Saturday, September 11.

The reunion was for pupils of the 1970s and 1980s era.

It began with a welcome in the Armoury of the school, followed by a chapel service in the school’s memorial chapel, and a moving address by deputy headmaster Philip Bowen.

A lunch was then held in the Old Chapel, which houses the school’s museum.

Megan Griffiths, the school's foundation and alumni co-ordinator, said: “A cohort of female old Bromsgrovians were in attendance for the first time.

"These were some of the first girls to attend Bromsgrove in the late 70s and early 80s when the school became co-educational.

“It was a very moving occasion for all ex-pupils and staff that attended. The school plans to host many more of these events in 2011.”
