A REDDITCH woman is trying to raise as much cash as possible to help Hillfields Animal Sanctuary in Bromsgrove.

Shari Black Velvet, editor of Black Velvet rock magazine based in Webheath, has designed a number of Meat Is Murder wristbands.

They cost £2 each with 50p going toward the animal sanctuary which rescues farm animals from cruelty and neglect and is home to more than 300 animals.

She said: “After selling Against All Animal Cruelty wristbands I decided I wanted to get a second design made.

“I chose Meat Is Murder since more and more people are realising that the killing of animals for food is cruel and unnecessary.”

She added: “I decided on Hillfields as it’s a local sanctuary that has saved the lives of so many animals that could have been killed for food.

“They deserve more support for being there to help animals when they need a home.”
