BROMSGROVE motorists are being warned about resurfacing works on the town stretch of the M5, which begin tonight, (August 13).
Resurfacing work on the M5 southbound between Junction 4 (Lydiate Ash) and 4a (Catshill) is being carried out every night between 8pm-6am, for the next week.
During the closure, southbound traffic will be diverted at Junction 4, to the A38 south to M42 Junction 1. Traffic will then take the M42 eastbound, leaving at Junction 2, to travel along the M42 westbound until it meets the M5 southbound.
The diversion will be clearly signposted.
Traffic on the M5 northbound will be unaffected.
Work is expected to be completed within a week.
Jessica Kenny, from the Highways Agency, said: “These essential works will improve safety and driving conditions for motorists.
“Works have been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum.
“We do advise drivers, however, to check conditions and leave extra time for their journeys if necessary."
