AT Bromsgrove Petty Sessions, Florence Potter, of Stourbridge Road, appeared on a charge of stealing bacon which was the property of Will-iam Matthews, of Stourbridge Street. The matter was reported to PC Armishaw who went to see the defendant, who told him she had not seen the bacon. The defendant said PC Armishaw could search her bag, but at the same time she tried to conceal a small basket.The bacon was found in the basket. Potter was given six weeks’ hard labour.
OMBERSLEY Agricultural Show was held at Westwood Park, Droit-wich Spa. It was almost exclusively a horse show as there was few cattle and no pigs. It was felt that the overall quality and number of entries suffered as a result. The cart horses shown were among the best in the county.
