THE brother and sister of a Droitwich youngster have proved they are a cut above the rest through a charity fundraiser.

Four-year-old Ethan and six-year-old Amelie-Grace Hughes, from Tibberton, had their hair cut for charity on Saturday, (February 14).

Amelie-Grace lost nine inches of her long hair, while Ethan had his head shaved to join in at the event, held at Lulu's Salon in Droitwich.

Amelie-Grace's hair was donated to the Little Princess Trust that transforms it into wigs to be given to children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

The siblings, who both attend Tibberton First School, decided to do the challenge as their two-year-old brother, Oscar, has received a lot of treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The pair were also sponsored for the challenge, while the salon got involved by organising a table top sale that raised more than £200.

Overall more than £1,000 was raised.

Mum, Rebecca, said that she and their dad Richard "couldn't be prouder" of their children's fundraising efforts.

"Amelie came up with the idea herself after seeing children suffering from cancer at Birmingham Children's Hospital, whilst visiting Oscar," she added.

There is still time to make a donation to the charity fundraiser by visiting justgiving.com/Rebecca-hughes9, or text AGEH88, plus £ and the amount to 70070.
