THE important issues of air quality and youth services for young people are to be examined by two tasks groups set up by Bromsgrove council.
The district council’s overview and scrutiny board agreed to establish the groups at its latest meeting, held in October.
The first group is to carry out a more in-depth investigation into air quality and CO2 emissions across the district, re-visiting the findings of a previous scrutiny task group in December 2007.
This group is being chaired by Charford councillor Sean Shannon.
The second is to undertake an in-depth investigation into positive activities for young people in the district, following reduction of the provision of youth services by Worcestershire County Council.
District councillor for Alvechurch June Griffiths is to be appointed the group’s chairman.
Overview and Scrutiny Board chairman Steve Colella said: “We hope the scrutiny exercise will enable us to make appropriate recommendations on these two very important topics.”
