A RUBERY funeral directors has recently had a refurbishment enabling it to provide a better service to the public.

V Morton & Sons Ltd, based in New Road, received a finance package to support the first stage of a project to refurbish its offices.

Work was carried out to modernise the Victorian building in the village, making it a more pleasant and comfortable environment for clients.

The refurbishment included an upgrade of the facilities, providing a chapel of rest for visitors to pay their last respects, and better access for those with mobility requirements.

Derek Case, the funeral director's managing director, said: “We have been keen to refurbish our Rubery office for some time, in order to enhance the supportive and compassionate surroundings and service we offer to clients.

“The complete restoration of our premises has created a more modern, light and comfortable environment in which to support our clients through the difficult time of their bereavement. "

Giles Wheeler, from Lloyds Bank, added: “V Morton & Sons is a family-run business that has built up a strong reputation for its efficient service.

“Combined with the business’ caring and professional staff, the improvements to the Rubery office have ensured that V Morton & Sons’ facilities are second to none."
