THE Bromsgrove branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is appealing for volunteers.

NCT, the UK's largest parenting charity, give parents-to-be and new parents support as they make the transition to parenthood.

The Bromsgrove branch has more than 15 mums and dads involved as volunteers who co-ordinate activities for other parents.

The branch offers a diverse range of activities and services, including the Bumps and Babies groups, baby and child first aid courses, nearly new sales, breastfeeding support and social events.

All the activities help expectant and new parents get together to meet others in the same situation, and to make friends.

Team roles are designed to be varied, interesting and fun, and encourage members to use different skills, even those who only have a small amount of time to offer.

Support is always given by the team for those trying something new, so NCT Bromsgrove volunteers will be able to add useful experience to their CVs as well as make new friends.

As well as team roles, the branch is always happy to welcome volunteers that are able to help from time to time.

These volunteers can help at the popular NCT nearly new sales, join the helper rota for the Bumps and Babies groups, or even contribute an article for the newsletter.

Kerri Monaghan, joint branch chairman, said; ”If your new year's resolution is to make a difference in your community, why not think about volunteering?

"You can get involved in as much or as little as you like, depending on the time you have available, and it’s a great way to meet other parents in Bromsgrove.”

Anyone interested in getting involved can call Kerri, or Sarah, on 08442 436065. Alternatively, email bromsgrove@nct.org.uk.
