BROMSGROVE police are investigating the theft of several thousands of pounds worth of jewellery.

The incident happened in Avon Close, between 10am and 5pm on Thursday, June 5.

A small bathroom window on the first floor at the front of the house was left slightly ajar to let some air in. The offender climbed onto the pitched roof on a small extension below the bathroom, managing to put their arm inside and open the window.

Items stolen included a yellow gold 14ct dress emerald and diamond dress ring, worth £1,600, a yellow gold and ring with a square shaped Australian opal surrounded by six small diamonds, worth £600, a 24ct yellow gold wedding ring with diagonal marks around the band, a yellow gold tennis diamond bracelet, and other items of jewellery.

It is not known how much the wedding ring, bracelet and other items were worth.

The offence was committed in the daytime and the property is overlooked by a number of other houses, so police are hoping there are witnesses.

House to house inquires have been carried out, and leaflets delivered through doors.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable O’Reilly on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 482-s-050614.
