A BROMSGROVE school is putting a donation to good use by helping get youngsters interested in books.
Catshill First School has received a donation of £100 from the Bromsgrove Lions, which serves the community, raising and spending thousands of pounds on needy causes.
The money is being used on the Gibb Lane-based school's reading scheme, with books bought to engage and improve the reading of pupils in years three and four.
Lions club president Bob Wilkes, as well as trustee Marilyn Harris, came in to the school to present the cheque, meet the children, and see some of the books that had already been purchased from the donation.
Children told them about what they liked about reading and what books they had at home, and the club president said he was pleased they were able to help pupils become better readers.
Adam Rivett, assistant headteacher, said: "We want to thank the Bromsgrove Lions for their generosity and know that their donation will impact on the reading and learning of many children in our school.
"We are incredibly grateful."
