A CHARITY supporting blind and partially sighted people has started a new support group at a Bromsgrove venue.

Sight Concern Worcestershire is holding the weekly support group at the Methodist Church, in Stratford Road.

The support group features a varied programme of speakers and activities, including a poetry workshop and healthy lifestyles advice.

The group runs every Thursday, from 10am until 1pm.

Its most important role is to offer people the chance to meet others with sight impairment and sight loss issues.

Katy Wakefield, the charity's information and support co-ordinator, said: "We know that people learn a huge amount from each other at support groups, where useful advice and information, or words of encouragement, can be shared in a relaxed environment.

"At Sight Concern, we demonstrate what people with sight loss can achieve when they get the right support.”

There are still places available. Anyone affected by sight loss and live in Bromsgrove can call Helen on 07964688807 or come along to the next meeting.
