ANYONE who fancies hosting a barbecue in the open countryside could be doing it in the stunning surroundings of Waseley Hills Country Park, in Rubery, where spaces can now be hired.

Several areas of the country park can be hired for exclusive use, including parts of the picnic area, undercover seating area and barbecue. A meeting room is also available for hire for business or social occasions.

As well as 150 acres of open grassland and woodland, Waseley Hills Country Park hosts two waymarked trails to embark upon with spectacular views from one of the highest points in Worcestershire, as well as a play area and visitor centre with café.

George Hammonds, Worcestershire County Council's countryside sites officer said: "We are looking to attract more visitors to this fantastic site on the Worcestershire/Birmingham border. Offering spaces for exclusive hire will encourage more groups to use and enjoy the site for a wide range of activities and occasions."

Cost of hiring space varies depending on the area, or number of sessions booked in the meeting room.
