EXCITEMENT is building ahead of this weekend's Rubery Festival.

The annual event is being held at St Chad's Park this Sunday, September 6.

The extravaganza features the usual mix of music, entertainment and attractions.

The event includes a parade from the Rubery British Legion, slides, a bouncy castle, a climbing frame, a bucking bronco, face painting, a table top sale and pony rides.

There will be creepy crawlies and parrots.

Among the musical artists appearing will be Kezza Belle, Sophie Thompson, Esther Turner, and the Candy Dolls.

The event also features a charity table top sale, tombola, and refreshments including a hog roast, veggie burger, ice cream, cakes, teas and coffee and cold drinks.

There is a free entry to the event, which takes place from noon until 5pm.
