YOUNGSTERS from Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School in Rubery were celebrating St George’s Day this week with a day spent learning about St George and the dragon, as well as finding out about the Royal family, and looking into traditional English customs and values.

The children and staff all came to the nursery dressed as St George, wearing red and white, and they were joined by their parents, grandparents and carers for the day, where they all had fun acting out the story of St George and the dragon, as well as taking part in some traditional party games and dances.

There was also a parent/child barn dance , led by Barry Jones, before a traditional spread of English party food.

Jacqueline Walker, manager at Jellybabies, said: “We feel it is important for the children to learn about English traditions, customs and values, and this has been a great fun way for them to learn.”
