HUNDREDS of animal lovers converged on the Jinney Ring in Hanbury to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Animals R Magic.

More than 50 organisations turned out to support the event and raise money for The Cinnamon Trust, which works to relieve the anxieties and injustices faced by elderly and terminally ill people and their pets.

Visitors to the event brought their own pets along, and several dog-owners entered their furry friends into the Fun Dog Show.

An ex-racehorse named Significant Move posed for photographs with BBC Midlands Today presenter Joanne Malin and event organiser Janet Morgan.

Janet, who is stepping down after organising Animals R Magic for the last five years, was given a special award for her commitment, after raising £25,000 for The Cinnamon Trust since becoming a volunteer.

A tawny owl named Elvis made a special appearance with his owner Brian Rowe, who rescued the bird in Liverpool four years ago. Earlier this year, Brian was amazed to discover that Elvis was actually a female, after finding six eggs in her nest.

The event also welcomed alpacas from the Simply Alpacas group, who have been to all five Animals R Magic shows, as well as Mary Baulk from the Butterfly Puppet Theatre and Peeler the West Mercia Police dog mascot.

Organiser Janet has thanked volunteers and guests for their help in this year's event, which raised more than £5,000 for The Cinnamon Trust.
