THE Transport Museum in Wythall is offering residents a bus ride into the past this coming bank holiday.

On Sunday, August 28 and Monday, August 29 a series of vintage buses will be returning to the Midlands' roads, and are welcoming guests onboard.

A spokesperson for the museum said: "Our buses are the real deal - genuine classic survivors from the old-time operators like Midland Red, Birmingham City Transport and the Black Country corporations that, between them, carried millions of passengers every day.

"We’re offering rides into the lovely countryside all around us, pure nostalgia for some while car users and kids relish the chance to look over the hedges and across the fields."

The museum, in Chapel Lane, Wythall, will open at 10.30am on Sunday and Monday. Parking is free but classic buses will also be collecting and dropping visitors to central Birmingham on both days.

Exhibits will pick passengers up from Holloway Circus, near the New Alexandra Theatre, at 10.30am and 11.45am, with return journeys from Wythall leaving at 3pm and 4.20pm.
