A GROUP set up to look at green issues in Bromsgrove is inviting residents to create a vision of what the town will be like in 20 years time.

Transition Town Bromsgrove (TTB) is calling on residents and businesses to attend a meeting at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, January 22.

Group members want people to help them create an image of what Bromsgrove could be like in a reduced-oil future Group spokesman Alison Horton said: "The dominant vision for our future is that it will be very much like today but with more stuff. This is very appealing, but is it feasible? There is strong and growing evidence that it isn't, due to increasing resource scarcity and the threat of climate change.

“TTB believe that a new vision is needed to replace the old. This Saturday's workshop session will encourage people to imagine what a sustainable life in Bromsgrove could be like in twenty years time."

The session is free and is funded by the Grass Roots Community Grant scheme.
