ORGANISERS of the Bromsgrove Music Festival announced plans to put on a programmethe following year that would cost well over £1,000 more than that of 1963, and appealed to the two district councils to make a substantial increase in the grants from the rates that might be given towards arranging cultural entertainment.

Therequestwouldputthe subsidy at £2,600 for the festival.

 ‘ARCHERS’ editor Godfrey Baseley, of Bumblehole, Fockbury, was installed as the new bailiff ofBromsgrove'sancient Court Leet.

He took on the office announcingaboldprogrammeforwhat promised to be an eventful year.

He also gave a hint that soon the Court might have a home of its own, with certain sites being investigated.

 BROMSGROVE Rural District Council affirmed that they were determined to guard what they held. They would inform the county council that if any drastic proposal for expansion of a neighbouring authority at the expense of the rural area were proposed, they would wish to be consulted early in the proceedings.

One such claim had already been announced from Halesowen for part of Hunnington.
