CHILDREN’S favourites Peppa Pig and Daddy Pig will be the stars of the show, as Severn Valley Railway welcomes back its Family Fun Weekend.

They will appear at intervals at the Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, where families can also enjoy magic shows from a Box of Tricks.

A children’s disco by Disco Daddy will be held at the Kidderminster station at regular intervals throughout the day, or visitors can head to Arley to get active in the Let off Steam zone, with a large bouncy castle and under five’s inflatable play area.

Families can also enjoy a ride on the Coal Yard Miniature Railway at Kidderminster, for a small additional charge.

There is a wealth of exploring to be done at the Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, where families can see the new SVR 50th Anniversary exhibition, taking people on a journey through the first half-century of the Railway.

Clare Gibbard, the SVR’s marketing and communications manager, said: “Our Family Fun Weekends are always a sell-out and this year we are very much looking forward to welcoming Daddy Pig, alongside Peppa, who remains as popular as ever with families.

“There is a whole host of other activities taking place along the Railway during the weekend so families can enjoy a jam-packed day out, whatever the weather.”
