MEMBERS of the Bromsgrove Labour Party (BLP) joined residents on the high street on Saturday to campaign for the government to increase NHS funding.
More than 500 shoppers and passersby signed a petition, which will be sent to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid.
Chairman of the BLP Cllr Michael Thompson said: "The response from the public was overwhelming. Some shoppers even stopped and joined us to hand out leaflets. The NHS is obviously dear to everyone.”
The campaign also raised awareness of the government's decision to remove health visitors from children's centres.
