UNEMPLOYMENT in Bromsgrove is higher now than it was last year, new figures have revealed.
The latest statistics from the Department of Work and Pensions shows 155 18-to-24s currently out of work across the district - up 10 per cent in 12 months.
In total, there are 645 residents claiming Jobseeker's Allowance, compared to 600 a year ago.
Since 2010, however, unemployment has fallen, with 255 less 18-to-24s out of work. The claimant count is also down by 713.
Bromsgrove Library will be hosting a jobs fair on September 27 from 10am until 12pm. Local employers, including those hiring for seasonal work, are expected to attend.
