THE winner of a Hereford Times competition braved the snow to climb on board a steam train to visit Father Christmas.
Louise Williams, husband Andrew and their 11 year-old son, George, ventured out in the heavy snowfall on Sunday to enjoy their prize of a trip on the Dean Forest Railway.
The volunteer run heritage steam railway’s four-and-a-half mile line runs through the Forest of Dean. Passengers can jump off at any of the five stations, along the route, to explore the area.
Louise said: “We had a fabulous time meeting Santa on a steam train and the snow made it all ever so magical.
“Our son was amazed by Santa and I just wanted to thank you so much for a wonderfully memorable experience.”
Santa will visit the railway on various dates in December. Full details and ticket bookings at www.deanforestrailway.co.uk
