A RATHER cooler evening for our first meeting after the summer break.

Lynne Adams came to tell us about the work of Project Linus which is a volunteer organisation which aims to provide a sense of securityandcomfortto babiesand children, who may be sick or traumatised, by providing a homemade quilt or knitted blanket. Project Linus began in America, in 1995,whena lady read a newspaper article saying how a knitted blanket had provided comfort to a child with cancer and she decided to organise blankets for a local cancer unit and the word began to spread.

The organisation began in the UK in 2000 and thousands of blankets and quilts have been made and given to children in need of comfort ever since. Lynne had brought along some of the quilts which were wonderful and each one so different.

This summer has been a busy one for Finstall Cross WI. The lovely weather was welcomed at the outings and at the craft group a watercolour painting was produced by all who attended and some gelatine flowers for Christmas were made by the ladies in August. Take a look at the website for photos.

The craft group will be making mice girls in September and felt angels in October.

The meal out in October will be at the Fox, Chaddesley, while our October meeting will be our fourth birthday where the competition will be a party hat.

There is lots going on at Finstall Cross WI.

Why not come along and join us for friendship and fun. We meet on the second Tuesday in the month at 7.30pm at Finstall village hall. For more details, visit our website, finstallcrosswi.moonfruit.com, or call Jenny on 01527 558835.
