WE went out to lunch at the Barnt Green Cricket Club instead of our usual meeting, which was lovely, the food was great and the company was delightful.

Mavis used a knife, instead of her gavel, to address the members and we went through some business.

The group walk took place from The Royal Oak in Barley Mow Lane, Catshill on Monday, January 13.

We had a raffle and the lucky winners were Sue Chatwin, Molly Giles, Marian Hughes, Sue Mayne and Joy Gammon.

We also had a collection for The Basement Project, which raised £131.08.

We gave a vote of thanks to the chef and waiting staff and he walked out with every lady to her car with a large golf umbrella, as it had started to pour down yet again, proving chivalry is not dead.

A warm, friendly welcome awaits new members and visitors.

Come along and enjoy an evening with us on the first Tuesday of every month, excluding January and August.
