IT’S time to start voting for The Advertiser’s Sports Personality of the Year.

After being inundated with nominations we’ve drawn up a five-strong shortlist which can be voted for on our websites over the festive period.

Bromsgrove athlete Jo Frost’s greatest achievement came at World Masters Athletics Championships, where she won gold in the long jump and set a British record of 5.91m.

Droitwich boxer Sian O’Toole has proved she’s the real deal in the squared circle.

The 16-year-old, who trains at Droitwich Amateur Boxing Academy, won her first national title when clinching the CYP Championsh- ips in an unbeaten season.

Bromsgrove’s Lauren Rowles enjoyed a successful switch from wheelchair racing to rowing this year.

Despite being new to the sport, she was selected to represent Great Britain at the World Championships and won silver in the mixed double sculls to seal her place at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Partially-sighted Droitwich swimmer Rebecca Redfern was in fine form at the Sainsbury’s Youth Games with gold in the SB13 100m breaststroke, setting a British record, and 50m freestyle.

She has also won gold at the ASA National Championships.

Lauren Whiteman has savoured a meteoric rise in Racketlon – a sport which incorporates table tennis, badminton, squash, and tennis.

She is currently ranked third in the UK and won silver at the European Championships.

The deadline for voting is Friday, January 8.
