BROMSGROVE Sporting have agreed a ground share deal with Worcester City to play at the Victoria Ground.

After weeks of speculation, City released a statement that from next season they will play at the home of The Rouslers.

The deal, which is believed to be significantly cheaper than their current groundshare at Kidderminster Harriers, is for two years with an option for a third.

Sporting have worked hard to get this deal done and have made sure the Victoria Ground passed the grading for National North football.

As part of the improvements, they added new turnstiles.

The deal has been approved by the National League, enabling Worcester City to play its home games at the Victoria Ground in Bromsgrove from next season.

City Chairman Anthony Hampson said: "Having looked at all options, Bromsgrove Sporting was considered to the best option for the club, based not only on the financial considerations but also the extent of the work required to enable an appropriate ground grading certificate to be achieved.

"Clearly the Club sees any ground share option as a temporary arrangement and it will continue to work tirelessly to return to the City of Worcester, as a matter of urgency.

"In the meantime, the club is grateful for the support Bromsgrove Sporting has given to enable the Club to continue playing at its current level in the interim period."

Chairman John Prescott believes the deal will provide a financial and profile boost for the club.

He said: "Having a National North team playing at the Victoria Ground will really raise the profile of Bromsgrove Sporting, which can only be a good thing.

"There is also going to be a very welcome financial boosts. It's not just the rent for the ground but the extra bar takings we will also make from the deal."
