THE casualty list at Bromsgrove Rovers continues to grow, with Jimmy Dormand and Jamie Barrett facing lengthy spells on the sidelines.

Goalkeeper Dormand has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken collar bone in last week’s 4-1 win over Bedworth United.

And the Greens are awaiting news on Barrett, who came off in the first-half of the 3-3 draw at Sutton Coldfield on Saturday with an ankle injury.

The duo join Barry Woolley (hamstring) and Sam Alsop (knee ligaments) on the sidelines, although manager Rod Brown is hopeful of having Woolley back within the next fortnight.

However, Brown, who drafted in last season’s fans’ player of the year Karl Lewis from Stratford to replace Dormand, has no immediate plans to dip into the transfer market.

He said: “I haven’t got any targets at the moment as I don’t want to bring people in for the hell of it, and the spirit is good at the moment.

“Jimmy is an absolutely awesome shot stopper so it is a blow.

“He went in for his operation yesterday and they have told him he will be out for 12 weeks minimum.”

Brown will be looking for a repeat of his side’s recent goalscoring antics when they host Marlow in BGB Midlands One this Saturday, before welcoming Stourbridge in the Birmingham Senior Cup quarter finals next Tuesday.

The boss has been particularly encouraged by the form of his new strike force Leon Kelly and Nathan Lamey.

Lamey returned to Rovers in a short-term deal from Rushall Olympic, but Brown insists it is down to the forward to decide whether he will extend his stay.

Brown added: “Nathan is an awkward little devil to play against and given half a chance he will pull the trigger.

“He will play on Saturday but it is on a game-by-game basis.

“I’m not going to say any more than that because it is unfair on Rushall, but Nathan will decide and I am not going to put any pressure on him.”
