BROMSGROVE boss John Snape was planning to play a strong side in the Birmingham Senior Cup at Leamington last night (Tuesday),ahead of the league clash at home to Barton Rovers on Saturday (3pm).

Snape said he aims to win every game and was delighted with his player’s response to the 3-1 FA Cup exit at Stourbridge, as they hammered Aylesbury 5-0 with two goals from the in form Josh McKenzie and one each from Danny Campbell, Jemiah Richards and Gary Ray.

Snape said: “It was a good performance and one that we needed after the FA Cup game because it is bound to be a disappointment going out of that competition but the league is what is really important now.

“I have a 20-man squad here and aim to utilize that as much as I can, so whilst some people might not see the Leamington game as an important one, it is a game against a team in a higher league, a good test, and I aim to win every game we take part in.

“We need to give Jordon Street a good run out and Cameron Jones has been playing well for us and it will be a good opportunity to give him a full 90 minutes and get his full match fitness on track.”

Danny Scheppel (foot), Jemiah Richards (side) and Marlon Walters (groin) were doubtful for Leamington along with Josh McKenzie (swollen ankle), but he is hoping to have them back for the Barton game.

Snape said: “They have had a much changed squad throughout the early part of the season and have not had the best of starts, but they beat Bedworth 5-2 last weekend so this game will certainly not be easy by means.”

Meanwhile officals at the club were tight lipped this week about a winding up order issued on the club by former director John Teece and his wife Lynette which will be heard at Birmingham County Court on Friday October 23.
