BROMSGROVE RFC will be without Chris Morgan and Luke Davies for the difficult trip to Hinckley in National Division Three (Midlands) on Saturday (3pm).

Both had to come off during the 28-20 win over Hereford at Finstall Park which kept the Boar’s 100-per-cent home record intact.

Back row Morgan is out for four to six weeks with ankle problems and Davies suffered knee ligament damage which is due to keep him out for a month.

Colts player John Wilkinson was drafted in as an early substitute during the game and played well in a tense local derby.

Bromsgrove head coach Ross Baxter was particularly pleased with the way his side defended after coming under some heavy pressure from the Hereford forwards.

He said: “We didn’t wilt in the first half despite going in seven points down at the break, we managed to keep it to a point where we had a good chance of coming back.

“In the second half we looked in control, particularly with set pieces, and we will need to take this play into the Hinckley game because that will be another tough one.

“We are in a group of three or four teams who are in touch with the top of the table and so far we are managing to stay there which is pleasing.

“We will feel that loss of Chris and Luke but that is what we have the squad for and we have the players who can come in and deputise whilst they are out.”
