BROMSGROVE RFC go into a home game with Kenilworth on Saturday (3pm), knowing they could have overtaken Hinckley and moved up a place in National Division Three (Midlands).
Head coach Ross Baxter admitted he was disappointed to see The Boars only draw the game at Hinckley 27-27 after being 27-3 up with 20 minutes to go.
Baxter said a five and nil points swing turned into a three and three as Bromsgrove tired in the last period of the game (see full report below).
It was also a game that at the start of play he felt his side were capable of winning, although on the positive side he felt the Boars played well.
And he said: “We have already played the top four in our seven games and done well, but I would have just liked to see us hold on at Hinckley because we were well ahead.”
Bromsgrove were hampered by a back injury for Tom Warren and Toby Wilson straining a calf in the warm up.
They will be missing for the Kenilworth game, along with long term absentees Luke Davies and Chris Morgan.
Flanker Chris McGregor, who has been playing in Australia, will return for the game.
