Budding Bromsgrove based teenage golf star Dan Richards certainly has a lot on his plate at the moment.

Dan, 17, has qualified for the world final of a golf competition after winning qualifying rounds at famous venues Carnoustie and St Mellion.

Not only does he play four days a week, he also does shifts as a waiter at the Ewe and Lamb pub and restaurant in Stoke Prior and is a full time A-Level student at South Bromsgrove High School.

Dan has only been playing the game for three-and-a-half years and is down to scratch. with the final of the 3D Golf tournament being held in Brazil next year.

He has been helped along the way by the owners of the Ewe and Lamb who have provided sponsorship and golf kit for him, and Terry Murphy of ML Civil Engineering.

Dan started playing at Gaudet Luce Golf Club’s driving range and then went to Blackwell Golf Club and now plays at Belton Park.

He has already won a tournament in Spain and played at the Ashley Giles Charity Day to raise money for the Cure Leukemia charity.

His employers and sponsors will also be helping him with the cost of the trip to Brazil, which is due to take place in April 2010.
