They go to title-chasing Earlsdon on Saturday (3pm).

l Meanwhile, the next generation of Worcester Warriors players will lock horns on Sunday under the watchful eye of Sixways skipper and back-row forward Jonathan Thomas, as clubs from around the Midlands battle t make it to Twickenham in the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup.

The event this weekend, which will feature youngsters from Bromsgrove Rugby Club under-12s, will be hosted by the Warriors and take place at Bromsgrove Rugby Club.

The competition has run successfully since the 2008-09 season – and the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is the first national grassroots tournament officiated by Premiership Rugby.

More than 40,000 children have played in the tournament to date, with the winners from each festival taking part in the Parade of Champions at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham in May, where they are presented to a sellout crowd at half-time.

Bromsgrove will go head-to-head with a collection of clubs from the Midlands, including Worcester, Kidderminster, Newport and Tamworth.

The teams will also be lucky enough to get the chance to meet and obtain advice from Worcester Warriors’ skipper Thomas.

Speaking ahead of the event, Thomas, who has taken time out from Worcester’s Aviva Premiership campaign, said: “These grassroots initiatives – supported by partners such as Land Rover – are the foundations of rugby in the community, and something we should be really proud of.

“I’m sure the next generation of Worcester Warriors players will be on show.”Land Rover is proud to be supporting the development of rugby through their sponsorship of the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, Premiership Rugby Academy and the award-winning Hitz programme.
