DROITWICH Spa Ladies fought back to beat Malvern Town 5-3 and maintain their position as leaders of the West Midlands Women’s Regional League Division One South.

Despite conceding two early goals and not playing the quality of football of which they are capable, the Spa Ladies worked extremely hard and managed to pull a goal back before half -time, when Beth Roberts poked the ball home after good play by April Polden.

Polden converted a penalty kick early in the second half to bring the score to 2-2.

However, within just a few minutes Spa again conceded.

A change of system soon followed and for the rest of the game Droitwich dominated the game eventually being rewarded for their much improved play by scoring another three goals, two from top scorer Sarah Parkinson-Mills, her ninth and tenth of the campaign, either side of a hat-trick strike from Polden.
