BROMSGROVE faced a frustrating afternoon at Walmley when their Birmingham League Division One contest was finally abandoned through rain.
Ashley Newfield took charge of Bromsgrove in the absence of skipper Mark Evenson but was unable to experience any action.
Evenson revealed: "They kept putting the pitch inspection back but finally had to admit defeat around 4pm.
"It was particularly disappointing as we were the only game in Division One that didn't manage to play at all and I just hope that doesn't stand against us at the end of the season.
"What it does mean, is that it has become even more congested at the top of the table, but we remain on the cusp of the title race."
Evenson returns to lead Bromsgrove this Saturday when they host Himley at St Godwalds Park, the skipper replacing Tom Smith.
